The host of Jeopardy!, has been suffering from fourth stage pancreatic cancer, and he plans to beat it. The doctors have however given their expert statement – that the odds aren’t in his favour at all.
Statistics says that 91% of pancreatic patients die within 5 years. Trebek is looking for best options to treat himself, the search for the cure is still on. Meanwhile Donahue says that living an absolutely normal life will help him get better. This keeps up the spirits, and gives one the strength to combat – Donahue mentioned.
The doctors are of the opinion that pancreatic cancer is a commonly diagnosed disease at Trebek’s age. Also, only 1/5th of the patients get diagnosed at the early stage. But as the show Jeopardy! will be on, the viewers might see his body undergo some changes – the toll of cancer. He will be under heavy medication, which will cause him to be fatigued.
The doctors have recommended chemotherapy for him, and the viewer’s hope that he has a speedy recovery.
