Queen Elizabeth issues statement on Meghan Markle, Prince Harry after family talks

Today Queen Elizabeth II said that the royal family fully supports Prince Harry and Meghan, decision to make a transition of being a part-time royal, splitting their time between Britain and Canada while supporting themselves.

Queen Elizabeth said – My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s decision to create a new life as a young family. Although we would have liked them to be full-time working members of the royal family, we respect and understand their wish to live an independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family – the queen said in a statement after the family meeting.

She also added – Harry and Meghan have made it clear that they do not want to depend on public funds in their new lives.

She added that while the longer-term arrangements would certainly take some time to settle, she had requested that final decisions be reached “in the coming days.”

The statement was issued after several meetings called by the queen to resolve the crisis present in the British royal family. Recently Prince Harry and his wife Meghan abruptly announced a self-imposed exile from their royal life.
