A great Mathematician, Olga made a lot of contributions in the field of fluid dynamics. Her research has impacted almost all spheres – oceanography, cardiovascular science, aerodynamics, weather forecasting and more. Google Doodle celebrated her birthday today, which is her 97th borth anniversary.
Born in Soviet Union, on the 7th of March, in 1922, she authored over 250 papers throughout her career. A great leader, dynamic thinker, she died at the age of 81. Olga was also an avid lover of arts – she was involved in the St Petersburg intellectual scenario, and was friends with a critique of the Soviet – Aleksandr Solzhenisyn.
Olga in her times became friends with another poet who denounced Stalin – Anna Akhmatova. She received the Lomonosof Gold Medal two years before she died in 2002.
